The remote wilderness area of eastern Victoria is home to the country that encompasses the wild and picturesque river that has been immortalized in many of Australia's bush ballads and legends. The Snowy River is the focal point of this park, and it's magnificent river scenery and breathtaking deep gorges are everything one would expect from this legendary river. However, during winter and spring, the Snowy River can experience dramatic rises and falls of up to nine meters overnight, making it extremely dangerous during floods.
